What is Twitter?

I joined twitter. I have been using it for almost a month now, and it has helped me get a few things done. Twitter is a self-described short messaging service. I feel that it suffers from a weak name, but I use it.

It feels like using an interactive away message system. It may be an instant messaging system without time constraint. You post a message. Direct your 140 characters at someone if you like, but it becomes part of a public time line. Private or ‘direct messages’ also exist.

Twitter documents real live events like California wild fires. A lot more of the conversation is probably only relevant to the Internet, but the gap is narrowing. Again, I joined Twitter.

What is Twitter?

Each message seems to be a “tweet,” something that humans have yet to do. Now humans tweet. On the Internet. Since Shaq joined Twitter, I feel less awkward about the name Twitter and the bird terminology. Make bird noises on the Internet with Shaq and I.

Twitter is probably the only way you can hang out with Shaq. On the Internet.
